Ku's Dating Advice

I was thinking of my college days a while ago, and for some reason I thought of an interesting fellow I met in an art class. Art classes--while they sound fun--were the bain of my existence. I never made more than a C because I'm just not artistic, and they really dragged my GPA down. They were fun though--basically for me they were just a couple hours every other day to hang out with friends. My first art class was the fall semester of my sophomore year, Principles of Drawing. One of the girls from my prayer group, Meredith, ended up being in it too. We got to be great friends, and we drove the boys on our side of the room crazy--especially David and Scott whom we dubbed Davy and Scottie (I forget why) and Ku (I think that's how he spelled his name).
One day right before class Meredith and I ran into one of my brother's friends, we'll just call him Joe ('cause that was his name *grin*). Joe was the kind of guy that every girl was in love with. He was a genius at art and completely off in his own world. He barely noticed anyone, but he knew me. That was a real popularity booster for me. So, anyway, I introduced Meredith to him, and when we got to class, she was raving about how she was in love with him, but he would never even really know she existed. She wasn't serious, it was just what you said after you met Joe.
Ku, an Asian guy who liked to pretend he couldn't speak English, spoke up with his advice on how Meredith should go about getting Joe to be interested in her. We found it to be very insightful--so insightful that I've never forgotten it. Here it is:
Meredith should watch Joe and figure out his schedule, then she should find one place he passed at the same time every day. For the next few weeks, she should hide in the bushes, and when Joe passed, she should jump in front of him and say, "Hey Joe!" After she did this every day for a few weeks, she should stop. The next day when Joe passed that spot, he would stop and think, "Hey. Where's Meredith?" And he would know she existed.

Okay, I am cracking up. This post would be so much better with pictures of these people...lol! I don't even remember this happening at all. I do remember the class, and us taking it together, and HATING that class alot. I remember Scottie, and now that you mention it I remember Davy's name, but can't put a face to it. And I definitely can't picture who Joe is. LOL!

Ku was crazy and that advice CRACKS me up! :) One thing I really remember was getting tickets to a DP for us to go with Scottie, then I remember him backing out because he had to go to a recital (that turned out to be his own!?!?!). Then I remember us wanting to only give the extra ticket to a guy...and I remember us calling soooo many people who didn't answer. What was that really skinny guys name that was kind of eccentric, but cute? Almost came across gay? Anyways, the real gem of this story is that after having no luck with any guy we could think of, I looked up Jonathan Black and invited him... ha ha ha! That was our first "date", though I didn't like him like that at the time. So that is pretty funny that you mention those people...lol! I'm laughing at the memories.. How I wish we had photographs of that class, and not just my terrible artwork! LOL!
